Synopsis

"With 1 million people, there'll be 1 million thoughts of greed, a million lies!"

One year after the disappearance of Lam Ping's (Kate Tsui) boyfriend, Tsui Fung (Sammul Chan), sheriff Lui To (Bosco Wong) discovers that Fung had already died, and the person that recovered his remains was Ping herself! Shortly afterwards, Fung reappeared, making matters even more mysterious. His return also allowed the developing feelings between Ping and Fung to flourish and ripen.

Everything, it turned out, was related to a scheme plotted by Ping's stepmother, and a conspiracy by a crook to con the family of its wealth. To begins a series of investigation, facing many obstacles along the way, and was even fired from his job for this reason. Fortunately, he had Yan Yuet (Shirley Yung), a friend who grew up with him, by his side to encourage him. On the other hand, after the marriage of Ping and Fung, things continued to happen to the famly. It turned out, The Eight Deceiving Disciples, led by Mau Tai (Chan Hung Lit), had already infiltrated the the Laam family in disguise...
